Artist statement
A complex yet simple piece full of subtle details and using traditional techniques to make a modern statement. Canela for Two can elevate any space, its sleek design is complimented by the brass rods and the contrasting wood used in the wedged mortise and tenon joints. The backrest though low provides good support and comfort to the lower back.
This special edition is handmade from reclaimed Canela Preta, salvaged from an 19th century colonial house in the old town of Paraty, a rare and beautiful species of wood.
