Artist statement
Handthrown in china clay, raku fired bowl using transparent glaze poured over the surface.
Sprayed inside wich has a fine crazing effect. Large crazing on the outside.
This technique is caused by thermal shock when the ceramic is pulled from the kiln at 1000C and then placed in a combustable material where the smoke penetrates the crazing.
