Artist statement
The Alorian Sofa is inspired by Gustav Klimt's painting which is called; The Kiss.
When examined painting pattern dynamics; the male figure on a clear base on the left side, and the more fluid female figure on the edge of the right side, are observed.
Creating both a whole and a dual was the most fun part of the project.
We blended the left and right side with similar dynamics from the painting. While left side is covered with velvet-like soft upholstery fabric with distinctive structure, right side decorated with brass patterns reminiscent of art nouveau style.
We broke the general form of sofa and exited the norms adopted. We thought that the arc shape is the most accurate pattern to describe a relation.
The Alorian sofa is unique design object and dimensions and size could be changeable.
