About the art
Artist statement
SEVA, which in Sanskrit means ‘to serve’, is a set of wooden bowls featuring a circular lid that doubles up as a tray or platter. Made out of Sheesham, an indigenous and sustainably-sourced Indian hardwood, SEVA is hand-turned on a lathe. Our starting point for this design was the Indian ‘masala dabba’ or Indian spice box. Use the three small bowls, large bowl and circular tray separately or together as a set. Each item is finished with natural beeswax and food-safe.
