Agnese Zirina, an artist and product designer, hails from Riga, Latvia, and was cultivated in the vibrant atmosphere of London, England. Currently, she calls Las Negras in Spain home.
From an early age, Agnese exhibited an extraordinary flair for creativity, honing her skills in Art and Design. Her inspiration stems from the divine beauty of sacred geometry and music that has guided her throughout her artistic journey.
A graduate of the Riga School of Design and Art with a degree in Ceramics and Design, Agnese later pursued her passion in the dynamic landscape of London. Completing her studies at London South Bank University as a product designer, she embarked on a diverse exploration of various media and design disciplines. Eventually, Agnese established her own art and design studio.
As her studio flourished, Agnese joined forces with her husband, David Canca. The couple relocated to southern Spain, choosing to delve into Agnese's foundational love – ceramics. Specializing in ceramics and design while David focused on engineering, they co-founded Studio 2123, an International Skill Exchange Hub (ISEH). This hub serves as a nexus for collaboration in art, design, craft, music, and engineering.
While operating az_ceramic studio between Cabo de Gata Natural Park and London, Agnese distributes her creations globally. The studio's emphasis is on crafting bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces and undertaking commissioned projects. Committed to eco-design and sustainability, Agnese promotes a philosophy that seeks to preserve the ancient craft of ceramics, seamlessly marrying tradition with a contemporary flair.
Driven by the intricate patterns of sacred geometry found in the Universe, Agnese's creations embody a harmonious fusion of art and design. Rooted in minimalism and characterized by clean lines, her work reflects a fresh perspective on modern design, seamlessly bridging the gap between the timeless art of ceramics and 21st-century aesthetics.
