Based in Meschers-sur-Gironde France, Aurore Piette develops Sustainable Design & Contemporary Craft from discarded maritime and local materials.
Inspired by her close environment, the self-proclaimed Craftswoman of the sea offers to co-work with Nature in her unique workshop: the ocean. Thus, Aurore Piette embodies in her works the origin of the pieces through raw and natural shapes. She also aims to include natural phenomena in her processes, leading to Neo Craft Techniques.
Every piece is unique, especially the one fired in the ancestral ceramic kiln, handcrafted by Aurore Piette in the soil, and using wood energy.
Between slow design and an self-sufficient vision of making, Aurore Piette redefines the notion of Craft. The material development of her works leads to a coherent and sustainable interior design, including Product design (ceramics, paints, furniture) but also Architecture Applications (bricks, tiles, wall coatings). Here, from one material, the Craftswoman of the sea proposes to create a unique space with several applications developed through different techniques.
