I’m a simple, even primitive, person. My personality, the way I live, it’s all extremely simple. So, living a complex city lifestyle with complicated interpersonal relationships does not come easy for me. Instead, I tend to feel a greater sense of empathy when I spend time in the simple company of animals.
Of course, the direction of my work draws reference from my everyday life, but my biggest inspiration flows from nature. The first time I touched a tadpole, the shock of it’s wriggling body; the look of the sky while laying under a large tree, gazing through it’s canopy; the sights, the smells, the sounds of nature; this is the origin of my work. As I go grow in my craft, nature has been a significant help.
