SHENG Yin, born 1993 in Beijing; KAI Yi born 1980 in Beijing; both live and work in Beijing.

Award-winning duo designer Sheng Yin and artist Kai Yi have begun their first formal cross-disciplinary cooperation with the creation of a complete, limited, handcrafted, customised home series. Sheng interprets the aesthetic understanding of home life by breaking traditional styles of home design and integrating it with modern lifestyles. Kai injects the artistic factor in home products, applying many years of experience in exquisite, hand-made leather crafts and a deep understanding of the materials in household products. While at China’s Central Academy of Fine Arts, millennial Sheng set up the leather-wood furniture brand Skeletonskin and he has participated in many international design exhibitions. Kai began to make leather artworks in 2007, designing and handcrafting every piece himself. His early works were inspired by archery while his later works come from the world of motorcycling. He has now expanded into interior design.
