Artist statement
The central focus is a chain-link fence, which typically symbolizes barriers and confinement. Yet, the fence is distinctly interrupted by a meticulously cut, perfectly circular hole, directly at eye level. Through this intentional void, the viewer's attention is arrested by a singular, fluffy white cloud suspended in the vast expanse of an azure sky.
The lone cloud, gently suspended in the clear, uninterrupted blue, becomes a powerful symbol of isolation, serenity, and the infinite possibilities that lie beyond physical and metaphorical barriers. This subtle transition in color also serves to draw the eye naturally towards the central, circular hole, emphasizing the escape route through the otherwise impenetrable boundary.
