Artist statement
This is an abstract view of the Djupetjønn lake in early autumn. The rock formations are covered by lichen and surrounded by an orangish autumnal flora.
Following several days of rain, a sunny autumn day brought me to Djupetjønn lake. After one hour of hiking uphill, I finally arrived at this beautiful natural spot. It was not my first time there since I explored the surrounding mountains, almost daily, for several months. The weather conditions were optimal that afternoon: no wind, warm sunny light.
This photograph is part of Gausta in Seasons: an award-winning project that documented this world-class mountain Norwegian destination for ten months, from December 2019 to September 2020.
