Artist statement
I took this picture on January 1st, 2020, during an afternoon-long walk around the Store Lungegårdsvann. The sunny buildings on the bottom of Fløyen mountain, beautifully reflected on the calm water, caught enough of my attention.
Store Lungegårdsvann is a bay connected to Puddefjorden, one of the branches of Byfjorden that creates the peninsula of Nordnes in Bergen (Norway). Lungegårdsvann means "large lung farm's water." But the name was related initially to the estate of a Danish nobleman called Vicens Lunge.
