Artist statement
Some places have a soul, an extra spark. After meandering up the mountain road, leaving the dramatic valley of Rjukan below, the plateau unfolds with Gaustatoppen rising above.
I feel attracted to rock formations' shapes reflected sharply on calm waters. I compose this image on the rocky border of the lake Kvitåvatn (950 masl) early on a summer morning.
This photograph is part of GAUSTA IN SEASONS: an award-winning project that has documented this world-class mountain Norwegian destination for almost ten months, from December 2019 to September 2020.
