Artist statement
After meandering up the mountain road, leaving the dramatic valley of Rjukan below, the plateau unfolds with Gaustatoppen rising above. I was photographing that Christmas from the early morning, impressed by the very long Scandinavian blue hour. I took this picture near the Kvitåvatn lake.
I was looking scouting around snowy hills near the Kvitåvatn lake when suddenly I noticed some footprints. I approached and realized that they belonged to a hare.
"Snowy hill and some hare footprints in Gausta" is part of Gausta in Seasons: an award-winning project that documented for almost ten months this world-class mountain Norwegian destination from December 2019 to September 2020.
This picture has been exhibited twice internationally in 2021!
