Best of The Artling: 2023 Highlights

In 2023, The Artling celebrated many milestones including our 10th anniversary and some of our largest sculptural installations to date. We reached new creative heights at the Mondrian Singapore hotel with the unveiling of What Party by KAWS and the Mondrian art collection. Curated art adorned the walls of Capella Singapore hotels in and Capella Sydney, as well as Artyzen Singapore. Our advisory team curated works specially for High House, and the 21 Carpenter Art Collection. We ended the year on a high note with the unveiling of ASTRA by Jun Ong, a confluence of steel stretching 280 meters atop the iconic pinnacle of One Raffles Place in Singapore.

Known for its design and progressive programming, Mondrian’s art collection comprises commissioned works by local artists as well as artworks by well-known international artists, strategically placed in the guestrooms and public areas.Mondrian is more than a hotel: it's a way of travel. The core of the Mondrian experience revolves around design, with hotels crafted by internationally renowned architects and designers, including notable figures like Philippe Starck and Marcel Wanders. Presently, Mondrian has nine properties spread across key cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, New York, London, Doha, Mexico City, Cannes, Seoul, and Singapore. Capella Sydney Opens in Australia!

After a seven-year restoration and renovation process, Capella Sydney is now open. Occupying an entire city block just moments from Circular Quay, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, the hotel welcomes its guests to a benchmark destination of luxury accommodation, exceptional cuisine, and unrivalled cultural immersion.The Artling was appointed as the art consultant for this new establishment and worked with Capella Sydney to curate an Australian-focused art collection. Featuring a vast array of pieces ranging from ceramics, paintings, site-specific murals, textile works, photography, and more.Capella Sydney is housed within the Department of Education building, originally designed in the 1900s by NSW government architect George McRae. Forming part of the city's prestigious Sandstone Precinct, the building has been meticulously restored and reimagined by Pontiac Land.

Another year has flown by and we're nearing the end of 2022! Before we move into the new year, we reflect on the year that has passed and some of our accomplishments. The world re-opened, and we were pleased to still see strong interest in supporting artists and designers from all over the world.
