An Insider's Look: Wayfinder Wines, Western Australia

The Artling was appointed to source and commission works for Wayfinder Wines, in Western Australia. The Australian artwork collection includes pieces across a variety of media, with an array of natural hues, materials and textures for their urban space. Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, this new cellar door in Dunsborough, Western Australia (about 3 hours drive southwards of Perth) opens to the public this week.Inspired by a native explorative vine, Wayfinder Wines represents the ethos of working with nature to produce the best from nature. This involves seeing themselves as part of an ecosystem, with an imperative to reduce harm and increase harmony.

The Artyzen Hotel art collection emphasises the distinct identity and character of each artwork, leading guests on a journey of curious discovery throughout the various spaces, showcasing a variety of media and infusing a colorful contemporary edge into the space.The selected artworks and objects for the collection complemented the interior design and architecture, while also reflecting aspects of Singapore's unique cultural heritage. The vision of Singapore as a tropical garden city and the Peranakan history and narrative of the site were also brought out in specific artworks and design objects.

Best of The Artling: 2023 Highlights

In 2023, The Artling celebrated many milestones including our 10th anniversary and some of our largest sculptural installations to date. We reached new creative heights at the Mondrian Singapore hotel with the unveiling of What Party by KAWS and the Mondrian art collection. Curated art adorned the walls of Capella Singapore hotels in and Capella Sydney, as well as Artyzen Singapore. Our advisory team curated works specially for High House, and the 21 Carpenter Art Collection. We ended the year on a high note with the unveiling of ASTRA by Jun Ong, a confluence of steel stretching 280 meters atop the iconic pinnacle of One Raffles Place in Singapore.

Nestled within Capella Singapore is a life-sized wall mural hand-painted by renowned Australian artist and professional surfer, Otis Hope Carey. The KAWS sculpture is part of an exclusive collaboration between Mondrian Singapore Duxton and The Artling, Singapore's premier art collection curators and consultancy company. A partnership more than two years in the making, The Artling is excited to introduce a permanent collection that has been meticulously crafted within the hotel's space. The core of the Mondrian experience revolves around design, with hotels crafted by internationally renowned architects and designers, including notable figures like Philippe Starck and Marcel Wanders.
