Artist statement
I recently read that having an original piece of art in your home is a great conversation starter. And if your guests feel the urge to hold something like this Whispering Globe in their hands and they can?.. I think it's even better.
Sometimes I imagine conversations triggered by my works, and it's really nice to see that urge in the eyes of others when we are at a fair, selling my ceramics.
There are no such looks and no tactile charm in the online world, but the impact is even greater when you open the box for the first time and find the piece so familiar from the photo but revealing so many new details and aspects of the object.
Whispering Globes deliver your best wishes to your loved ones. They are one-off ceramics with a story. The Big Rip is one of my most recent creations. You can find more Whispering Globes here in The Artling's collection.
Wheel-thrown, altered Raku ceramic.
