Artist statement
The flowers were in a turqoise vase, I was visiting my parents with my girlfirend in late August, it was hard to get there. Visiting is always a breath of fresh air. The painting is made after a photo I took with a film camera received as a gift on that vacantion. I like the blur of the image with a bit of focus on the flowers, it's warm an it reminds me of sitting in thier kitchen. I wanted to make the painting look like a still from a film, taking a short glance at the yellow flowers before the "action" begins.
