About the art
Artist statement
"Clover" is part of a series of work I created specifically for an installation at the Philadelphia International Airport, which was on view in 2018 and 2019. "Clover" and 3 other original pieces were digitally reproduced in high resolution, printed on vinyl, and hung in the airport. I then spent 2 days attaching collaged elements to the 6' x 20' panel. Three of the original paintings remain available for purchase. "Clover" was inspired by my ongoing love of mark-making, process, color, and texture. My intent with "Clover," as with all of my work, was to create a cerebral, joyful work of art that conveys my visual vocabulary and evokes the pleasure I feel when creating it. It is an open and accessible abstract environment that the viewer can enter and assign meaning to the shapes, colors and textures as she sees them. Thus, the painting interior becomes the viewer's world as much as mine.
