"Boogie Woogie": A solo exhibition by Lu Xinjian
de Sarthe is pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Lu Xinjian, entitled Boogie Woogie. The exhibition is the artist's first solo presentation in Hong Kong. New and previously unseen works from his three series of paintings City DNA, City Stream and Reflections, will be showcased. The title of the exhibition draws its name from Piet Mondrian's famous penultimate artwork "Broadway Boogie Woogie" (1942-43). Within the work Mondrian captured the vibrant energy of New York City through his iconic use of simple colors, lines and shapes. It was this panting that inspired Lu Xinjian to create his iconic City DNA series and ultimately City Stream and Reflections.

Hong Kong, March 12, 2018—Sundaram Tagore, in partnership with Tagore Foundation International and the Hong Kong Arts Centre, and with generous support from the National Arts Council of Singapore, presents Jane Lee: Red States, an exhibition by acclaimed Singaporean artist Jane Lee. This defining, mid-career presentation, which includes a retrospective selection of studies and maquettes that trace the chronology of Lee's practice, is the artist’s first solo show in Hong Kong.

Nuri Kuzucan's exhibition "n a m e" at Edouard Malingue Gallery, Shanghai
Edouard Malingue Gallery, Shanghai will present the first exhibition in Mainland China by Turkish artist Nuri Kuzucan from May 12 to June 17, 2018. Born in 1971 in Zara, Turkey, Nuri Kuzucan graduated from Mimar Sinan University, and later also obtained a Master’s degree in social sciences at the same university. Kuzucan currently lives in Istanbul, Turkey.

Using sculpture, painting, and installation, Jacob Hashimoto creates complex worlds from a range of modular components: bamboo-and-paper kites, model boats, even astroturf-covered blocks. His accretive, layered compositions reference video games, virtual environments, and cosmology, while also remaining deeply rooted in art-historical traditions notably, landscapebased abstraction, modernism, and handcraft.
