Artist statement
A collection of original, vintage postage stamps arranged on canvas with a painted wooden circle. The work is mounted behind conservation glass within a dark brown, wooden frame.
Using a variety of stamps from the reign of King George VI, they have been cut in half and arranged in a grid style pattern forming the shape of a globe. With a combination of clean and franked stamps they have been grouped together in a regal colour palette.
Evoking a sense of nostalgia, this work references a bygone era when mail was the primary form of correspondence.
Listed size includes the frame.
