Artist statement
This work does not require framing and is ready to hang. It is 100cm in diameter.
Meditation is part of my creative process. I begin each session with a short meditation and then paint whatever I saw or heard in my mind's eye.
Mandala art represents my inner self at the time of creation. Painting on a white ground is always daunting, this textured and whitewashed piece laid on my studio table for weeks before I finally put colour to it. It was before my Alaskan trip and my desire to see the Northern Lights may have bleed into the painting.
