In 2023, The Artling celebrated many milestones including our 10th anniversary and some of our largest sculptural installations to date. We reached new creative heights at the Mondrian Singapore hotel with the unveiling of What Party by KAWS and the Mondrian art collection. Curated art adorned the walls of Capella Singapore hotels in and Capella Sydney, as well as Artyzen Singapore. Our advisory team curated works specially for High House, and the 21 Carpenter Art Collection. We ended the year on a high note with the unveiling of ASTRA by Jun Ong, a confluence of steel stretching 280 meters atop the iconic pinnacle of One Raffles Place in Singapore.

We continued our work in making art accessible online to all, with our revamped website and newly launched trade program.

As we approach the new year, we reflect on 2023 — a year in which our commitment to transforming hotels, offices, homes and skylines through art resonated from Sydney to Singapore.

The Artling celebrated a significant achievement in 2023 as the primary art consultant for the inaugural Mondrian Hotel in Southeast Asia, located in Singapore. Collaborating with Mondrian, The Artling curated an inspiring art collection featuring commissioned works by local and international artists strategically placed in guestrooms and public areas. The iconic KAWS sculpture titled "WHAT PARTY," was one of the artworks curated by the Artling. The grand reveal of the 6-meter bronze KAWS sculpture marked a monumental moment as the first of its kind in Asia.

Mural for Capella, Singapore

Gaagal (Ocean) by Otis Hope Carey, Capella Singapore.

Artling continues to thrive in successful collaborations, playing a role in the completion of Capella Hotel in Singapore. Renowned Australian artist and professional surfer, Otis Hope Carey, partnered with Artling to create a life-sized wall mural titled "Gaagal"" nestled within the hotel.

This mural, showcasing Carey's artistic skills and heritage, stretches an impressive 12.27 meters in length and 7.89 meters in height, serves as a captivating backdrop for Capella Singapore. This remarkable achievement, the largest public artwork by Carey to date, required 45 man-hours for completion, with Artling serving as dedicated advisors and project coordinators throughout the process.

Located in the prestigious Orchard neighborhood, the Artyzen Hotel boasts an exquisite 142 tastefully designed rooms spanning across the 20-story building.

Collaborating with the renowned interior designers G+A, we meticulously curated public spaces adorned with Peranakan graphics, skillfully brought to life by a local artist. These captivating visuals now grace the surroundings, featuring hand-drawn Orchid flowers on the walls—a cherished emblem in Singaporean culture symbolizing history, charm, and sophistication.

Capella Sydney, Australia

Capella Hotels and Resorts has achieved a milestone with the successful transformation of the heritage-listed Department of Education Building into their first Australian property, Capella Sydney. This historic landmark now stands as a luxurious destination, open to guests for the first time in history. The Artling acted as the art consultant for the project and collaborated with the client to curate the remarkable Sandstones Sydney Art Collection. This collection, a testament to Australia's rich artistic heritage, features a diverse array of mediums, including ceramics, paintings, site-specific murals, and textile works.

High House

Brought together by our visionary art consultants at The Artling, the team worked to complement the interiors of the newly launched High House with a vibrant international collection of paintings, sculptures, and digital art.

The art curation for the space — a dynamic ensemble of emerging and established artists from across the globe — has transformed High House into a transmedia wonderland that offers endless discovery as guests flow through the various spaces.

Collaborating with Malaysian artist Jun Ong, The Artling orchestrated the placement of a meticulously crafted convergence of steel, ASTRA, at NOVA, a new venue atop the iconic pinnacle of One Raffles Place. Dynamic illumination enhances the geometry, with a spectrum of colors pulsating in endless patterns, creating a beacon that communicates through an ever-changing visual language. Stay tuned for when NOVA opens in early 2024 to see the artwork in-person yourself!

The 21 Carpenter Art Collection, thoughtfully curated by The Artling, showcases a vibrant assembly of both emerging and established Singaporean artists. We have filled the space with a roster of artists whose works feature a captivating tapestry, a hand-drawn charcoal mural, and more, contributing to the diverse and enriching artistic atmosphere within the hotel.
